SDIT Project Partners Meet in Seville, Spain

On February 19 and 20, partners from the SDIT (Self-Determination and Inclusion by Theatre) project gathered in beautiful Seville, Spain, for an exciting two-day meeting. The meeting hosted by Autismo Sevilla, was attended by representatives from Inovar Autismo, Teatro da Vila, Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, and Autism-Europe. It was a productive time filled with collaboration and warm conversations.

The main objective of the meeting was to review the project's progress and discuss the next steps. The partners shared feedback from the professionals and young people involved in the courses, along with updates on the seminars and events that have taken place last year. This information will later be gathered to enhance inclusive theatre practices.

One of the highlights of the meeting was a captivating performance by Viento Sur Teatro featuring an autistic actor. The partners were impressed by the performers' talent and by the profound impact theatre has on all of the performers’ lives.

This two-day meeting also allowed partners to discuss the upcoming European Handbook of Inclusion through Theatre, which will serve as a valuable resource for theatre professionals interested in creating inclusive experiences for autistic people.

The SDIT project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program and aims to promote the inclusion of autistic children, young people, and adults in theatre. The project has already achieved significant results, and the partners are dedicated to continuing their efforts to make theatre more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
